Privacy Policy

Kind Channel's privacy policy explains how we collect, store, use, and protect personal information. This platform is operated by Kindness Community Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Newport Beach, California, USA.

Overview & Our Commitment

KIND CHANNEL is operated by the Kindness Community Foundation (KCF), a nonprofit organization based in Newport Beach, California. We take privacy seriously — not as a legal obligation, but as a core value aligned with our mission of kindness, dignity, and trust.

We do not sell your data. We do not run behavioral advertising. We do not build commercial profiles from your activity. Our only goal is to operate a healthy, meaningful community platform.

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. If you have questions, contact us at contact@kindnesscommunityfoundation.com.

What Data We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to operate KIND CHANNEL:

Account Data: When you create an account, we collect your email address and the display name you choose. We do not require your real name.

Content Data: Ideas you submit, comments you post, Vision Movie entries you create, and votes you cast. Public content is visible to all visitors. Private Vision Movie entries are restricted to your account, subject to the sharing and infrastructure-access details below.

Usage Data: Our hosting providers (Netlify for the website, Supabase for the database and sign-in) keep standard request logs, including IP addresses and browser type, for a limited period under their own policies. We use them only to keep the platform working.

Reliability diagnostics: If the app encounters an error, it sends an error category and the broad part of the site affected. Our application stores hourly counts without your writing, error messages or stacks, exact page addresses, account identifiers, sign-in codes, session tokens or cookies. These reports do not use persistent identifiers to follow people. We use a rolling seven-day diagnostic window and remove older counts during collection and health checks. Standard request logs at our hosting providers still follow their own policies. Apart from these reliability diagnostics, we do not run analytics or tracking scripts.

Communications: If you contact us by email or through the contact form, we retain your message to respond to you.

Administrative security records: For approved administrators, we store the approved email address, a stable account identifier and email-verification times. Actions taken through the admin console record the administrator's identifier, action, affected record identifier, reason category, time and result. These records help control access and investigate changes; the action log does not copy private Vision Movie writing.

We do not ask for financial data (there are no payments on the platform), government IDs, biometric data, precise location, or health records. Information you choose to include in your writing or messages is still part of the content we receive. Avoid including sensitive personal details in public ideas or comments.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data exclusively to:

Operate the platform: Authenticate your account, display your submitted content, process your votes and comments, and deliver notifications you've opted into.

Improve the experience: We use the reliability diagnostics and provider request logs described above to find and fix technical problems. We do not track individual journeys or use behavioral analytics.

Communicate with you: Notifications about your ideas (featured, voted on, scheduled for broadcast), platform announcements, and responses to your support inquiries.

AI processing: Some features send text you write to our AI provider, Anthropic, through its API. We do not automatically include your profile name or email address, but any personal information you include in that text is sent with it. Specifically: the title and description of an idea you submit, to produce editorial feedback; your draft title or description, if you press a suggestion button while writing an idea; your opening dream, if you press "suggest gratitude" in ManifestStation; and idea identifiers, titles, categories, formats, editorial scores and themes when an approved administrator requests a programme-plan draft. Anthropic states that inputs and outputs from its commercial API are not used to train its models by default.

We do not use your data for: advertising, profiling, sale to third parties, or any commercial purpose outside operating KIND CHANNEL.

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

We use the following trusted service providers to operate the platform: • Website hosting (Netlify) and database and sign-in services (Supabase) • Email delivery (Resend) — processes recipient addresses and message content for sign-in, platform notifications and contact enquiries • AI processing (Anthropic) — receives the text and idea data described under AI processing above: idea titles and descriptions, drafts when you ask for suggestions, your ManifestStation opening dream when you ask for gratitude suggestions, and idea identifiers, titles, categories, formats, editorial scores and themes for administrator-requested programme-plan drafts. We do not automatically include your profile name or email address, but the text may contain personal information you write.

These services process information under their applicable service terms, data processing terms and privacy policies. Their processing can include operating and securing their services, preventing abuse and meeting legal obligations. Data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States.

We will disclose data only if legally required to do so by a valid court order or law enforcement request, and we will notify you unless legally prohibited from doing so.

Your Rights & Choices

You have the following rights over your data:

Access and export: Email contact@kindnesscommunityfoundation.com and we will send you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, including everything you have contributed, in a machine-readable format, within 30 days.

Correction: Change your display name at any time from your Profile page. For anything else, email us.

Deletion: You can delete any of your Vision Movies yourself, at any time, from the Vision Movie's own page. To delete your whole account, email contact@kindnesscommunityfoundation.com (the Delete Account button on your Profile page opens that email for you). We will delete it within 30 days. Deleting your account deletes your profile, Vision Movies, comments, votes and notifications. Ideas you submitted stay in the public archive as "Former member", with your name and email address removed; if you would rather they were deleted too, say so in your email. Administrative access bindings and action logs are retained separately from account content, including stable account and record identifiers, to prevent a reused email address from inheriting admin access and to preserve the history of administrative changes. Contact us about these records as part of an access or deletion request. Copies may also remain in backups, service logs or delivered messages until their applicable retention periods expire. We cannot promise that every copy is erased after a fixed number of days.

Emails from us: We email you about your own submissions, such as when an idea has been reviewed. We do not send marketing email. To stop these emails, write to contact@kindnesscommunityfoundation.com.

GDPR / CCPA: If you are in the EU or California, you have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA respectively. We honor all such requests.

ManifestStation & Vision Movie Privacy

Every Vision Movie you create in ManifestStation is private when you create it. Other members and signed-out visitors cannot see it unless you choose to share it.

If you share a Vision Movie by link, anyone with the link can see its title, your display name, your opening dream and your six life areas. Your email address is never shown.

Your gratitude entries and future reflection remain restricted to your account in the app and its API, even when you share. This is enforced by the database, not just hidden on the page.

These account-level controls do not prevent authorized administrators with database access from reading stored Vision Movie content. Vision Movies are not end-to-end encrypted.

From each Vision Movie's own page you can edit it, make it private again, or delete it from the active application, at any time. Unsharing or deleting stops future access through that link; it cannot remove copies or previews someone already saved.

If you press "suggest gratitude", your opening dream is sent to our AI provider to write the suggestions (see How We Use Your Data). Nothing else in your Vision Movie is sent.

Browser Storage & Tracking

KIND CHANNEL uses browser storage for essential application features:

Sign-in and preferences: Supabase stores your session in local browser storage to keep you signed in. The app also uses browser storage for preferences, onboarding and recoverable idea drafts. Blocking or clearing this storage can sign you out or remove unsaved drafts.

Analytics cookies: We do not use analytics cookies. Reliability diagnostics do not use cookies or persistent tracking identifiers.

We do not use: advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, social media tracking widgets, or any third-party behavioral tracking technology.
